Angelas home birth

Hi there, it's Angela here with Life With My Littles blog!About 4 weeks ago my husband left for Afghanistan, marking his 7th tour overseas. Two weeks before he left we found out we will be having another baby (due 22 April, 2013)!

When we were stationed in Maryland, I delivered both my boys in water at the local birthing center called Special Beginnings which is staffed by Certified Nurse Midwives (CNM’s) the only midwives covered by our Army medical insurance! The nearest birthing center to us now, is a 2 hour drive away, and is staffed by Certified Proffessional Midwives (CPM) which are not covered by our medical insurance! There are 2 hospitals in the area, one of which has 2 hydrotherapy sports tubs which are first come first serve basis for laboring moms, but it is against hospital policy to birth in the tubs! The second hospital has no water birth facility at all! After weeks of research and contacting midwives, we have decided upon a home birth! A home birth in the state of TN will cost us about $3000 out of pocket (the insurance won't cover anything preformed by a CPM)! I am going to be putting together an on line auction on my FB fan page in order to help raise funds for this home birth. The auction will take place either at the end of October, or the first two weeks of November. The people that are bidding on an item in the auction will be required to like the sponsor that donated the item(s) on Facebook! It is my belief that women have the right to birth where, when and how they want to and seeing this is going to be our last baby; I really want to experience a home birth.

I would be forever grateful if you could donate an item for the auction. If you cannot donate, I would ask that you would please consider selling an item to me that I can use for the auction at some sort of a discount? I'm not really sure how to go about this, as this is the first time I've ever done anything like this before, but having a home birth is so important to me, that I am willing to try! Please take this into consideration and let me know what you think. If there is no room in your budget for this, I totally understand, but please just let me know if that is the case. Thanks again, I appreciate your consideration!Warmly,Angela(Mama of the Littles)
