Close to my heart

I almost died along with my unborn child during my 1st trimester. I had a cyst strangle & kill my left ovary. If it had not been for a quick thinking and moving team of ob/gyns a rupture in relation to an artery would have meant bleeding out within minutes. At 28 weeks I started having pre-term contractions. I was put on bed rest. I was in and out of the hospital for the next several weeks. By 34 weeks pre-eclampsia had set in. I was at the ob/gyn twice a week...trying to get the baby as far along as possible while my life was not a higher risk. I had to be induced at 37 weeks. Right after my son was born I began to hemorrhage and lost 50% of my blood. I remember going into shock and begging God to allow me to live so I could know my son. I had an amazing ob/gyn in the delivery room that day along with some truly amazing nurses. That team saved my life and my son's life. I am so thankful to still be here. I am so thankful for the medical care I received. All women should be able to receive the same excellent care as me...for them and their babies. I know I am blessed and do not take the care or the days I have had to live since for granted.
