Im still here 17 years later

I almost died after giving birth to my daughter. I had undiagnosed pre-eclampsia during the last trimester of my pregnancy. After giving birth, I had a stroke & was in a coma. The Drs told my family I would die. I was in a coma for 36 hrs before regaining consciousness. I also regained movement on the right side of my body after a week. I was diagnosed with HELLP syndrome which is a life-threatening pregnancy complication usually considered to be a variant of preeclampsia. I was receiving OB/GYN care at a major hospital in the Chicago area. My Dr ignored the protein loss in my urine and severe edema in my feet & ankles. My daughter was 4 lbs. 12 oz. at birth 3 wks premature, but had no other health complications. Please support www.preeclampsia.org so women are aware to watch for the warning signs of this horrible & life-threatening pregnancy complication. If we can save just one woman from this, we will be performing a miracle.
