Anyone who cares about maternal health in an underserved area needs to be aware of Amanda Phillips with ECTA International and her work with the Dayasagar Community. Amanda is a midwife working in rural northeastern India to improve the conditions under which women give birth. Besides acting as a midwife she is training lay midwives and equipping them to ensure the safe delivery and survival of both mother and child. The work she and her husband, Ryan, are doing is amazing. Their passion and sacrifice is a model for all who care about maternal health. They currently are suffering from a reduction of support and would appreciate even the smallest contribution. In rural India a little goes a very long way.
