Description:
During the birth of my son, I almost died of preeclampsia. Assured it was a fluke, we tried again. I almost died again. I asked my doctor where I could send my check to support preeclampsia research and awareness. He said there was no such place - you should start one.I am not a doctor, a nurse, or scientist. I am a writer, artist, teacher. Still, with the help of friends, and my OB/GYN, we launched The Preeclampsia Foundation (www.preeclampsia.org). Over the years, I have met too many husbands who have lost their wives, too many mothers who have lost their babies. Thank you for adding your voice to this important cause. No woman should die bringing life into the world.
