Elizabeth Hunter

I’m a doctoral candidate in Northwestern University’s Interdisciplinary PhD in Theatre and Drama, where I work on video games as a bridge between theatre, canonical text (like Shakespeare), and a digital learning environment. In addition to my dissertation, I’m currently developing an educational video game adaptation of a Shakespeare play with accompanying classroom curriculum.

I have an MFA in dramaturgy from Columbia University and a BA in English and psychology from the University of Michigan. Before I came to Northwestern, I launched a Shakespeare theatre company in a restored blast furnace in Alabama, ran a small independent film company in New York, and taught in a prison in the Bronx.
